Vishnu discharged - suffering from Schizophrenia


Update​: June 02 2025

As per offline with Mr.Shakthivel (Vishnu's Dad). Vishnu got discharged and he is diagnosed with schizophrenia. 


Update: Apr 21 2025

Based on update from Mr. Shakthivel, he reached the hospital and saw his son after 7 years. Vishnu is not able to recognize anyone. The plan is to take Vishnu to Amritanandamayi hospital at Eranakuam, Kerala, India after 2 days for treatment.

e received 1500 CAD from CBSA. 


Update: Apr 19 2025

Based on talks with social worker and Mr. Sakthivel (Vishnu's father), Vishnu  reached India and is in Delhi hospital. His father is planning to travel to Delhi as he is working out on some funds.

It looks the CBSA has given cheque to Vishnu for his treatment but no details on how much it is.

Will keep posted as more info is received.



Update: Mar 25 2025

1. The CBSA has decided to send back Vishnu to India towards mid of Apr 2025. One of our key social worker is checking if there is a way we can get some report from CBSA on his medical condition.
2. Vishnu will be picked at the Airport in India by his father. The plan is to have Vishnu checked at a medical center in Kerala or Bangalore to plan for his treatment.

3. ⁠I had spoken to Mr.Shakthivel (Vishnu's father) and he would be raising a Gofundme once Vishnu is back in India and there is an assessment of his medical condition and an estimate is received from Hospital/Doctor

4.Planning to periodically transfer 5% of earnings from ieagleminds.com Chess classes and Tournaments conducted in 2025 towards Gofundme once the link is there towards end of Apr 2025                                                                                                                                         ​

2022 - Cause

The Charity Training is to Fund Vishnu here and will be donated to him when found and if ready or to his father (got consent). 100% of the amount received will be donated.

Amount Collected & Transferred

We could also get a source to fund the remaining for Vishnu's certificate to reach the $7,126( Rs.4 Lakhs). Removing bank details of Mr.Sakthivel

750CAD+663USD = Rs41,705 + Rs48,056 = Rs.89,761

Chess Summer Camp
​The Training starts from July 20th, it is a 1st week Free Chess Camp for both the Novice and the Beginners. Training would be done through Google Meet. 
Registration for 1 week Free camp to be done before July 19th 6PM EST.  invite sent to all those registered till 18th and remaining will be sent by July 19th EOD.

 - The class for Novice players will be on Mon and Thu. Training starts at 11AM
    till 1 PM EST
 - 
Beginners on Tue and Fri. Training starts at 11AM till 1PM EST
 - There would be daily Tournaments from Monday to Friday from 2PM EST to     4PM EST for all the Students for 6 weeks starting July 20th.
   Volunteers will be available to assist for any Technical issues.
 - There is $1000 worth Planet Laser Coupons for Canada kids and cash back
    for US kids up for grabs. More details under Sponsor section below 


Fees
The 1st week of July 20th is a Free camp. For the 5 weeks staring July 27th and ending Aug 28th the fees is
    - For each week, 
CAD25 or USD20 
    - For 5 weeks, CAD100 or USD75  
    - Parents with siblings, for the 2nd kid onward can pay 50% of the fees
    - For Students of EagleMinds, they need to pay in Full for the Chess Camp
      and feel free to avail $50 less against payment of future classes.

Registration for 5 weeks training to be done before July 26th 6PM EST. Invite to registered will be sent by July 26th 8PM EST

Shiva Chakkoli provided the Chess Training Course and  
                Curriculum and overall management - 72 Hours

Trainer:   Anirud Chakkoli will be taking 4 classes per week from 11AM to 1PM                  - 54 Hours
  •                 The Trainer, @15 years had  quite a bit of success.  He won the MCC championship last                        year and his name is engraved in the Trophy along with yearly winners for the last ​                               50 years. Story on Anirud's success can be found at Community website here
Volunteers: To assist students daily on Week days from 2PM-4PM EST, one of them will be
                        available in the virtual EagleMinds Chess club to assist
